OUR HISTORY

It all started in 1910 with Félicien and Fernande who worked 6 hectares, produced their own red wines and became merchants.

They passed on their passion to their daughter: Jeannine, who carried with her husband Michel. Together, they undertook the restructuring of their vineyard, which changed to AOP Saint-Chinian in 1982. At that time, Michel worked his vines with a horse.

In 1986, there was another trasmission from mother to daughter, with Marie-Christine who moved on the family business by creating a company with her husband Max. The area cultivated grew, the range of vintages expanded.

Then, in 1999, Jérôme settled down as a young farmer and joined his parents' company. In 2003, he set up a new roadside sales cave for easer access.

The Estate

Located in the south of France, in Hérault, in Vieussan, north of the Saint Chinian appellation, the Domaine Carrière Audier covers 60 hectares, on schist soils

This family vineyard for 5 generations is divided into small plots spread over 9 municipalities and were planted with classic grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, which give AOC Saint-Chinian and Merlot for IGP.

The result is wines that are very characteristic of their vineyard, whether they are fragrant, fruity whites or very distinctive reds, which are tasted regularly until they have matured.

Also we have been engaged in direct sales since 1968 and especially in the restructuring of the vineyard and the wine cellar. On the estate, the principle of reasoned control is applied to reinforce the positive impacts of agricultural practices on the environment and to reduce their negative effects.
